Holistic Wellness Examinations

A check-up in the comfort of your own home means your pet stays relaxed whilst I perform my examination. I allow 45 minutes for the initial consultation to provide plenty of time to get to know you and your pet, examine them thoroughly and ensure I have answered all of your questions.

A check up every 12 months ensures early detection of any health issues before they become serious. For pets over the age of eight, a check-up every 6 months is recommended.

The consultation and health examination includes assessment of your pets:

  • Complete medical history
  • Diet and supplements
  • Medications
  • Nose to tail examination
  • Weight, joint mobility and pain assessment

Additional services include

  • Nail trims
  • Anal gland expression
  • Recommendations on any diagnostic lab work such as blood & urine tests, lump sampling, ultrasound and xrays (more info click to page on diagnostics)

When your pet requires any in-clinic procedures such as x-rays and surgery, I will arrange estimates for the procedures to be performed at local clinics (more info link to page on surgery)

Reduced chemical preventative care

A tailored flea, worm and heartworm prevention regimes to reduce the use of chemicals.

Nutrition & Diet Advice

Feeding your pet a nutritionally balanced diet composed of wholesome, fresh foods is one of the very best things you can do for your pets health.

Vaccinations & Titre Testing

Vaccinations are an essential part of your pets preventative care and are strongly recommended for puppies and kittens. However, unnecessary repeat vaccinations can be avoided by using titre testing to assess your pets immunity. A titre test involves taking a blood sample from your pet and assessing their immunity levels to the viral infections we vaccinate against. If your pet has sufficient immunity, they do not need a repeat vaccination.

Herbal Medicine

Herbal formulas are tailored to your pet and improve their health by supporting the body’s own in-built healing mechanisms. They have proven results with a number of conditions and can be safely used alongside most conventional medications. The herbal formula is a liquid that can be easily mixed with your pets food.

Conditions that can respond well include:

  • Chronic diseases
  • Arthritis & musculoskeletal pain
  • Itchy skin, allergies & skin infections
  • Hormonal imbalances
  • Endocrine disorders including Cushings and Hypothyroidism
  • Diabetes
  • Digestive disorders including IBD / IBS, colitis, vomiting & diarrhoea
  • Pancreatitis & high cholesterol problems
  • Kidney & Liver disease
  • Heart disease & blood pressure problems
  • Cognitive problems including dementia
  • Immune mediated diseases and immune deficiencies including FIV
  • Respiratory infections
  • Cystitis & bladder stones, FLUTD

They can also be used an an adjunct to support treatment of anxiety, other behavioural issues, epilepsy and cancer

I can also arrange stress-free transport to and from the clinic if required.

All advanced surgeries including orthopaedic surgeries eg. cruciate repair can also be arranged to be performed by my referral surgeon partners. I organise referrals for advanced imaging including CT Scans and MRI at WAVES.

Palliative Care & Peaceful Goodbyes

The hardest part of being a pet owner... and a vet!

When it's nearing time to say goodbye I will make sure your fur-babe is as comfortable as possible without the stress of returning to a clinic.

I will make sure the goodbye journey is as peaceful as possible and assist in preparations to honor your loved ones life.

Saying goodbye peacefully means your pet is sedated, pain free and everyone is totally relaxed and has had all of their questions answered, when the time comes to let them go.

I can handle all of the after-care arrangements including private or group cremations and transport to Passing Paws Pet Crematorium following your pets euthanasia.
